Negishi Industry is a renowned, family-owned Tokyo workshop (est. 1944) that exclusively handcrafts premium copper, brass, and stainless steel watering cans for bonsai. Led by master artisan Yoichi Negishi, only three people make these tools, which are famous for their gentle, rain-like water flow.
Negishi Industry's products are highly regarded for their durability, allowing them to age gracefully.
Specialization: Formerly roofers, they transitioned to specialized bonsai watering cans in the 1960s to meet demand for high-quality, specialized tools.
Production: Each can is handmade using traditional high-temperature soldering techniques over hot coals, taking nearly half a day per piece.
Reputation: Known for producing the most prestigious bonsai watering cans, used by masters such as Kunio Kobayashi and supplied to the Emperor of Japan in 2006.
